DOLE® GO Organic! is brought to you by Dole Plc. Dole is committed to ensuring best agronomic and sustainable practices are in place right across our supply chain from seed to store, farm to fork. Empowering consumers to make the choice to GO Organic! is an important component of that commitment. So too is reducing our environmental footprint, ensuring human rights and doing business in the right way. You can find out more about our global approach to sustainability, here.
We’re committed to being a positive, constructive presence in the communities in which we grow, trade, live, work and play right across Europe. Our strategy is called ‘The Dole Way.’
For Nature
In Dole, marketing perishable produce as we do, we have always been very conscientious when it comes to minimising waste across our operations. Waste is closely monitored from farm to fork. We’re always looking to find alternate uses for the little food waste that we do generate. We also strive to inspire and empower consumers to minimise their produce waste associated with fruits and vegetables across our communications platforms.
For Nature
At Dole, we recognise the importance of training in ensuring sustainable water management across our operations. Recently, our OTC Academy members participated in a valuable workshop, led by GLOBALG.A.P. experts, that focused on providing practical knowledge on efficient water use and resource protection. The training played a key role in the success of the OTC Academy's organic avocado project, which has now achieved SPRING certification for 100 small-scale avocado producers. This certification ensures that the avocados meet high standards for quality, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility, contributing to a more resilient agricultural future.
For Nature
In collaboration with Carbon Cloud, a bespoke calculation will be conducted to assess the CO₂ footprint of the Plátano de Canarias—a uniquely sweet banana grown in Europe under the highest social and environmental standards. This is one of the products in our Dole range that we are currently examining.
For People
The OTC Academy is dedicated to training young growers and agricultural specialists in organic farming, beginning in Latin America where agricultural education is currently limited. It offers courses and workshops led by regional experts, which focus on sustainable practices to improve food production, protect the environment, and address climate change. The academy aims to expand globally, with the mission of helping young people enhance their skills and future prospects, while promoting organic farming as a sustainable solution for the agricultural sector.
For People
At Dole, we recognise the importance of supporting the communities where we operate. As a responsible neighbour, we are dedicated to making a positive impact. One of the key initiatives is supporting Kirkwood High School in South Africa via OTC Organics. The school is not only committed to providing quality education but also ensures that students have access to nutritious meals. This enables them to focus on their studies and thrive in their educational journey.
