WeGrowOrganic was founded in 2001 by third-generation farmers Thijs Geerse and Wouter Snippe. Covering approximately 400 hectares, they grow a wide range of organic products that absorb extremely high levels of nutrients from the rich polder soil where they are cultivated.

In 2018, WeGrowOrganic joined forces with OTC Organics to expand markets, create synergies and gain a stronger financial position for investments. In 2021, a joint investment enabled the construction of a new cold storage facility. The new facility includes a sorting system, packaging machines, and laser printing capabilities. It offers storage space for 3,200 tons of potatoes, 3,500 tons of onions, 600 tons of pumpkins, 2,500 tons of carrots, and 1,500 tons of beetroot.

Thijs and Wouter transport their products to the consumer as carefully and as quickly as possible and keep the ‘field to fork’ chain as short as possible. They sort, process, pack and sell their products directly from their own farm through a wide European network of buyers. They also handle organic products for fellow growers. In fact, 40 producers market 100% of their production through WeGrowOrganic.

Here at SOGA Growers, we are perfectly located to grow a wide range of citrus cultivars. Our hot summer days are always tempered with cooling afternoon breezes off the sea. Winters are mild, but with warm days and cold nights, which induce fully coloured fruits with tender flesh. The best lemons in the world are grown at between 30 – 35 degrees N and S. Our valley, at 33 degrees S is perfectly situated for the production of good-quality lemons. An abundance of irrigation water allows us to water our trees when they need it.

We are the world’s first producers of organic seedless lemons. Any fruits that do not meet our strict export standard for external blemishes are sent to our processing plant where we produce premium single-strength frozen juice and essential oils from them.

Our farms and packhouse are certified organic by the Control Union. All have Globalgap and Nature’s Choice Accreditation. Additionally, our packhouse conforms to BRGS (Brand Reputable Compliance Global Standard) certification.

As a true family business, passed down from father to son, they have been growing the finest chicory since the 1980s. The company is one of the few biodynamic chicory farms. Unlike traditional hydroponics, Leonard grows his chicory in cultivation cells using potting soil. Additionally, Nieuw Bonaventura collaborates closely with others in the breeding of open-pollinated chicory varieties. All of this results in a fuller, more intense flavor. Truly pure, biodynamic.
